Stars Go Down in Six as Lightning Hoist Lord Stanley's Cup

Dallas' Stanley Cup Hopes Dashed in Championship Finale

Historic Season Ends as Tampa Bay Takes Game 6

The Dallas Stars' quest for their second Stanley Cup championship came to a disappointing end on Monday night, as the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated them 4-1 in Game 6 to win the series 4-2.

The Lightning, who won their second Stanley Cup in three years, were led by Brayden Point, who scored twice in the clinching game. Nikita Kucherov and Ondrej Palat also scored for Tampa Bay, while Jake Oettinger made 29 saves for the Stars.

For the Stars, it was a heartbreaking end to a season that saw them make a run to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since 2020. They were the only team to take the Lightning to six games in this year's playoffs, but they were ultimately unable to overcome the defending champions.

Despite the disappointment, the Stars had a number of bright spots in their season. Roope Hintz led the team in scoring with 32 goals and 52 points, while Miro Heiskanen was named a First Team All-Star. Jason Robertson also had a breakout season, scoring 41 goals and adding 31 assists.

The Stars will now have a few weeks to rest and prepare for next season. They will be looking to build on their success from this year and make another run at the Stanley Cup.
